Good Logistics Foundation is Established to Enhance the Group's Operational Competitiveness

(Hong Kong, 18 April 2019) – Xinyi Glass Holdings Limited (“Xinyi Glass” or the “Group”) (stock code: 00868.hk), a leading integrated automobile glass, energy-saving architectural glass and high-quality float glass manufacturer, ordered a large number of open top containers to its production complex in Malaysia, in order to enhance the Group’s operational competitiveness and better meet customer demand. The freighter with the first batch of 715 containers departed from Humen Hongye Port on 13 April 2019 to Malacca port in Malaysia, marking a milestone in Xinyi Glass’ expansion of its logistics services.

As the largest high quality float glass manufacturer in Asia, Xinyi Glass has strategically expanded its production capacity and optimised its global expansion strategy. Since operations of the first high quality float glass production line started at the complex in Malaysia in the second quarter of 2017, the Group has become the largest high quality float glass manufacturer in Malaysia, with its three high quality float glass production lines’ daily melting capacity reaching 3,200 tonnes in total. To continuously increase container capacity, shorten product delivery time and fulfill customers’ demand for open top containers, the Group has specially ordered and shipped the containers on a freighter. These containers are to be mainly used for shipping glass and raw materials.  At 8:00am, 13 April 2019, the freighter fully loaded with the first batch of 715 containers has departed the port, which has laid a good foundation for the Group to meet the rising demand of different customers.

Dr. LEE Yin Yee, B.B.S., Chairman of Xinyi Glass, said, “The Group has advanced along the path of innovation and progress, continuing to actively improve our logistics services and container capacity, so as to provide better service and satisfy specific needs of different customers. Our Malaysian plant can help the Group to tap global demand and more effectively serve customers in ASEAN countries and Asia. In recent years, as the Group strives to globalise our business and optimise our global expansion strategy, complemented by tactical expansion of our production capacity, it is set to further expand our business map from the existing 140 countries and regions, and seize more potential international business opportunities.”
